Long time....

I know it has been a long time since I have posted an entry or even pictures here. Things have been crazy around here. Ido not even have much time to post this but I will type fast to fill you in on what is going on around the Millett household these days.

Today is Jaxon's 3rd birthday! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. We are keeping it really simple and low key for today. Jaxon gets to do or play with whatever he wants and gets to choose his favorite place for dinner..... McDonald's. He then gets to open up his presents from me and Mark. On Staurday we went to Chuck E. Cheese for Jaxon Day. Since Mark had to work we couldn't do whatever and go wherever Jaxon wanted so we did that Saturday. Both the boys had a blast.

Mark started a new job 2 weeks ago. Long story... it gets me upset still when I think about it, but he seems to like his new place so I am happy.

We had the boys' joint birthday party May 7th. That was stressful (coincides with the long story mentioned above) but everyone had a great time. Mark now wants to do a get together park day with food 1x every couple months cause of how much fun everyone had. I think it is a great idea as long as I do not have to do much work. LOL

Hunter's birthday was on April 23rd. We called it Hunter Day and did whatever he wanted. We went to breakfast, went to the duck pond, went to a park, went to a local children's science museum, Professor Pennypickle's, and went out to dinner. Then we had brownies and he opened his presents from us and my parents. He had so much fun!

Mark's mom, step dad and brother came into town for a short visit at the beginning of April and it was great seeing them, we just wished they had stayed longer and had more time with them. They split their time between 2 of Mark's sister's homes so we were going over there when we could to see them, but hopefully next time we can have just a day with us and them to spend together.

We had a great low key Easter. We stayed at home all day which was nice. The boys really enjoyed finding the eggs becuase the Easter Bunny hid 2 extra special eggs for each of them. The Easter Bunny and its helper (me and my Dad) enjoyed finding places for the eggs to where it was difficult but easy enough for the boys. Same with Mother's Day. We took my mom out to dinner at CPK after Mark, the boys and I went to church.

For Valentine's Day Mark and I had dinner a few days before since we do not want to infringe on anyone else to watch the boys. We had a nice initimate dinner. It was great.

We visited the Wild Animal Park the weekend before Hunter's birthday. The boys had so much fun! The last we had gone was when I was about 7 months prgnant with Jaxon, so it was his first time. They were so good with all the walking and really enjoyed seeing all the different animals especially the butterfly exhibit and the giraffes!

We have had several double dates with another couple. We have gone to the movies, dinner, miniature golf, just lots of fun. They have 2 kids, a boy and girl around my boys' age so the kids always have fun. We have also gone to several friends' kids' birthday parties. The boys have a lot of fun when they get to play with kids their own age since we are usually stranded at home during the day, we don't get much playdates.

I have also still been having my dinner dates with my best girlfriend from hs A. We always have so much fun together. The bpys and Mark both love her too so its great! We are planning on taking the boys to Sea World this summer once she is done teaching for the summer. It should be fun. I have had a couple of lunch dates with other friends from high school too and they have been fun.

Hunter starts Kindergarten in August! I am excited yet sad to see my oldest and my baby go to school. He is excited though and can't wait. I signed him up for the new extended day class and we should find out soon if he gets in or not due to a lottery for spots. I will continue to homeschool preschool for Jaxon. I am excited though because I get to spend the next 2 yrs with several hours of just Jaxon and me time which I haven't had with him like I did with Hunter.

I am still going to school. I am able 5 or 6 classes in. There are days where I am stressed from trying to get my homework done and deal the boys and everything else in our lives but its going well. I have a 4.0 average so far so I think I am doing good. =)

I think that is everything. I have to finish somethings for school along with decorate the boys' door for Jaxon's birthday, plus wrap his presents and get myslef ready for the day.

Hope to update soon!!! XOXO

P.S.- Even though I have not kept up on writing, I have been able to stay up-to-date on all your lives! LOL

Steal

So first off it was a year on 1/1 that I started this blog. I haven't been writing lately as much as I have wanted to but thats life. So anyways Happy Blog-iversary to me!

Now the reason I titled this one Steal is cause my step-sister-in-law (catch all that =D ) posted it today, but I loved it so much I am stealing it from her (of course though I will give credit to her who got in in an email from a friend who got it from somewhere else).

Thinking of Having Kids? Do this 11 step program first!
This is funny:

Lesson 1

1. Go to the grocery store.
2. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office.
3. Go home.
4. Pick up the paper.
5. Read it for the last time.

Lesson 2

Before you finally go ahead and have children, find a couple who already are parents and berate them about their...
1. Methods of discipline.
2. Lack of patience.
3. Appallingly low tolerance levels.
4. Allowing their children to run wild.
5. Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's breastfeeding, sleep habits, toilet training, table manners, and overall behavior.
Enjoy it because it will be the last time in your life you will have all the answers.

Lesson 3

A really good way to discover how the nights might feel...
1. Get home from work and immediately begin walking around the living room from 5PM to 10PM carrying a wet bag weighing approximately 8-12 pounds, with a radio turned to static (or some other obnoxious sound) playing loudly. (Eat cold food with one hand for dinner)
2. At 10PM, put the bag gently down, set the alarm for midnight, and go to sleep.
3. Get up at 12 and walk around the living room again, with the bag, until 1AM.
4. Set the alarm for 3AM.
5. As you can't get back to sleep, get up at 2AM and make a drink and watch an infomercial.
6. Go to bed at 2:45AM.
7. Get up at 3AM when the alarm goes off.
8. Sing songs quietly in the dark until 4AM.
9. Get up. Make breakfast. Get ready for work and go to work (work hard and be productive)

Repeat steps 1-9 each night. Keep this up for 3-5 years. Look cheerful and together.

Lesson 4

Can you stand the mess children make? T o find out...
1. Smear peanut butter onto the sofa and jam onto the curtains.
2. Hide a piece of raw chicken behind the stereo and leave it there all summer.
3. Stick your fingers in the flower bed.
4. Then rub them on the clean walls.
5. Take your favorite book, photo album, etc. Wreck it.
6. Spill milk on your new pillows. Cover the stains with crayons. How does that look?

Lesson 5

Dressing small children is not as easy as it seems.
1. Buy an octopus and a small bag made out of loose mesh.
2. Attempt to put the octopus into the bag so that none of the arms hang out.

Time allowed for this - all morning.

Lesson 6

Forget the BMW and buy a mini-van. And don't think that you can leave it out in the driveway spotless and shining. Family cars don't look like that.
1. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment.
Leave it there.
2. Get a dime. Stick it in the CD player.
3. Take a family size package of chocolate cookies. Mash them into the back seat. Sprinkle cheerios all over the floor, then smash them with your foot.
4. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car.

Lesson 7

Go to the local grocery store. Take with you the closest thing you can find to a pre-school child. (A full-grown goat is an excellent choice). If you intend to have more than one child, then definitely take more than one goat. Buy your week's groceries without letting the goats out of your sight. Pay for everything the goat eats or destroys. Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having children.

Lesson 8

1. Hollow out a melon.
2. Make a small hole in the side.
3. Suspend it from the ceiling and swing it from side to side.
4. Now get a bowl of soggy Cheerios and attempt to spoon them into the swaying melon by pretending to be an airplane.
5. Continue until half the Cheerios are gone.
6. Tip half into your lap. The other half, just throw up in the air.

You are now ready to feed a nine- month-old baby.

Lesson 9

Learn the names of every character from Sesame Street , Barney, Disney, the Teletubbies, and Pokemon. Watch nothing else on TV but PBS, the Disney channel or Noggin for at least five years. (I know, you're thinking What's 'Noggin'?) Exactly the point.

Lesson 10

Make a recording of Fran Drescher saying 'mommy' repeatedly. (Important: no more than a four second delay between each 'mommy'; occasional crescendo to the level of a supersonic jet is required). Play this tape in your car everywhere you go for the next four years. You are now ready to take a long trip with a toddler.

Lesson 11

Start talking to an adult of your choice. Have someone else continually tug on your skirt hem, shirt- sleeve, or elbow while playing the 'mommy' tape made from Lesson 10 above. You are now ready to have a conversation with an adult while there is a child in the room.

**This is all very tongue in cheek; anyone who is parent will say 'it's all worth it!' Share it with your friends, both those who do and don't have kids. I guarantee they'll get a chuckle out of it. Remember, a sense of humor is one of the most important things you'll need when you become a parent!

For anyone else reading this - I'm thrilled that you are all enjoying it, as I did - immensely. However, I DID NOT write it! It was sent in an email from a friend of mine... and I'm not sure who the original author is.

This is meant to be funny, not TOTALLY serious. Although sometimes this is how it feels! I saw it on Facebook, I can't take credit, but I wanted to share. :)- M***** <-------That is my step-sister-in-law.

Thanks for the post. It made me crack up, hope it made all of you laugh too. Of course I wouldn't change being a mother for the the world there are just some of those days where all of the above happens and it can drive you crazy =) Happy New Year's everyone!
